An 8-Week Experience for Women Navigating the Empty Nest Transition
Grounded in research. Guided with heart. Held in community.
For the woman who is standing in the middle of one of the most significant transitions of her life, wondering who she is now and what comes next.
Intentionally small. Deeply supported.
Your child has left, or is leaving soon. And even though you knew this day was coming, even though you raised them to fly, nothing quite prepared you for how it would actually feel.
The house is quieter than you expected. The routines that gave your days shape are dissolving. And somewhere underneath the pride and the love and the bittersweetness, a quiet question is getting louder.
Who am I now? What's next?
Maybe you feel it as sadness or a sense of loss. Maybe it shows up as disconnection from your partner, or from yourself. Maybe you have lost the thread of what actually makes you feel alive. Maybe you are carrying grief you cannot quite name alongside joy you feel guilty about.
The emotions are real. The transition is real. And you deserve more than pushing through it alone.
The Art of Flourishing is a place to stop waiting. To do the work. To finally make space for you.
Maybe you just walked alongside your child through the college process, there with guidance when they needed it, quiet when they needed space to find their own way. You gave that season everything you had. This is where you give the next one to yourself.
This program is for you if:
You do not need to be ready. You just need to be willing.

I built this program because I lived this transition myself.
When my own children left the nest, I found myself asking the same question so many women ask: who am I now? That question led me back to school, and ultimately to discovering my passion and purpose beyond being a mom.
But I did not build this program from my own experience alone. I am an ACC credentialed coach through the International Coaching Federation, and a certified Positive Psychology Practitioner (the science of wellbeing) through The Flourishing Center. I spent over 25 years in quantitative research for brand, marketing, and product strategy development for Fortune 500 companies. At the core of that work is knowing how to ask the right questions to uncover what is really going on beneath the surface.
So I did what I know how to do. I researched what women actually experience during the empty nest transition, conducting research among one of the largest communities of empty nest women. What I found became the foundation of this program. The research is consistent with what I and other women I knew felt. And the positive psychology tools I teach each week are the ones that helped me most in my own transition, tested in my own life before I ever taught it to anyone else.
Six challenges show up again and again for women in this transition:
Loss of joy. The daily rhythm of micro moments with their children gone, and with it a source of joy they did not realize how much they depended on.
Loss of connection with oneself. How do I care for myself now? What do I enjoy? What do I need?
The rollercoaster of emotions. Sadness, liberation, nostalgia, joy, pride, grief, all arriving at once. The nervous system on edge because the ground feels unsteady.
Changing family relationships. Our children need us differently now. The connection evolves and that takes adjustment.
Disconnection from a partner. One partner may feel the transition deeply while the other does not, which can breed distance and resentment.
Loss of meaning, identity and purpose. Who am I now beyond being a mom? This is the big one. And it can hit hard.
This program was built around these six challenges with teaching grounded in research and lived experience, workshops, deep discussion, and guided reflection. Not surface level conversation. Meaningful work. With women who understand exactly what you are navigating.
The Art of Flourishing is an 8-session live experience, small, structured and deeply supported.
Each session weaves together teaching grounded in positive psychology and research, guided reflection, and deep supportive discussion among women who are going through it right alongside you.
This is not a lecture. It is not therapy. It is a warm, intimate circle of women led by an ICF credentialed coach who has lived this transition herself and built this program from the inside out.
The work is real. And it is also warm, unhurried and completely free of pressure. Each week is supported by a companion workbook you'll use live in every session. (More on that below.)
Belonging & Hope Every new beginning unfolds more gently when you're not walking it alone. We begin by building safety, steadiness, and trust within the group, the foundation everything else grows from.
Curiosity & Joy Joy often lives in the small moments that absorb us completely, the ones we rush past without noticing. We reopen awareness and begin reconnecting with what feels alive. Especially for women who have spent years tending to everyone else first.
Awareness & Understanding Every emotion has something to teach us, if we slow down long enough to listen. We deepen emotional awareness and our ability to listen to what our bodies are telling us.
Agency & Possibility Agency is simply this: the recognition that you have more choice than you may currently feel. The stories we tell ourselves have power. So does the moment we decide to question them. We explore what you actually need beneath what you're feeling, loosen the grip of the narratives that have been keeping you stuck, and ask what else might be true here?
Nourishing Yourself You deserve to be full, not just enough to keep going. We explore your relationship with your own needs, reconnect with what actually feels nourishing to you, and begin shifting how you care for yourself in this season of your life.
Identity & Meaning Beneath every role you've carried, the essence of who you are remains. It hasn't gone anywhere. We reconnect with your strengths, your sparks, and the deeper thread of your identity, and listen for what your future self already knows.
Connection & Partnership Real connection grows through small moments of being genuinely understood. We explore what genuine connection actually looks like, how trust is built, how we communicate our needs, and how our relationships either support or deplete our flourishing.
Integration & Celebration Flourishing isn't something you reach. It's something you choose to keep building. We reflect on what has shifted, clarify what you'll carry forward, and turn insight into sustained, intentional action.
This program includes a comprehensive printed workbook designed to support the learning that happens together, and the reflection that continues between sessions. I wrote it and included the tools that helped me most during the hardest parts of my own empty nest transition, tested in my own life before I ever brought them into this program.
Inside, you'll find:
We use the workbook live in every session, so the learning doesn't stay on the page. It moves with you, whether we're together on Zoom or you're sitting with it on your own.

What women say surprises them most isn't the content. It's the circle.
There is something quietly powerful about being with women who understand, without explanation, exactly what you're navigating. The realization that you are not alone in this is often the first and most meaningful shift.
And then the insights start coming, not just from the teaching, but from each other. A woman shares something and suddenly you see your own life differently. Someone names the thing you've been trying to articulate for months. That kind of discovery only happens in community, and it's one of the most transformative parts of this experience.
Even on Zoom, the closeness this group builds tends to surprise people. Our first session together is entirely about establishing safety and trust, and from there, everyone opens up in their own time. There's no pressure to share before you're ready.
The group is intentionally small, limited to 8 women, so every voice is heard, every woman is known, and the conversation can go as deep as it needs to.
The circle is also intentionally mixed, women at different stages of this season. Some sensing the shift is coming, others a few years into it already. The woman ahead of you isn't a reminder of what's coming. She's proof that something good is waiting on the other side.
"This program is a really meaningful way to connect with other women in a genuine and supportive environment. It creates space for deep and thoughtful conversations and allows you to show up as your authentic self without judgment. I felt safe to share openly, and it made the experience very impactful. You learn a lot about yourself along the way, and it feels like the beginning of a longer, ongoing journey." ~ Anonymous
"I have changed for the better having carved out time I didn't think I had to pause, reflect, and share space with all of these women in the group. Even though I often arrived tired and worn out from the day, I (usually 😉) left feeling more calm, enlightened, and inspired." ~ Debbie M., Colorado
"Kristin's The Art of Flourishing has been such a lovely experience. She created something calm, grounding, and deeply meaningful. The group of women has been wonderful, filled with real connection, care, and openness. I've truly treasured being part of it." ~ Jill K., Manitoba, Canada
Over the course of the program, women often experience:
Awareness creates insight. Insight creates clarity. Clarity creates movement. And through all of it, you have someone fully in your corner.

The circle is intimate by design, limited to 8 women to preserve depth, trust, and the quality of conversation.

If this feels like it may be your season, I'd love to hold a space for you.
That feeling knows something your overthinking does not. Trust that.
A new circle of The Art of Flourishing is beginning January 2027, live on Zoom. Space is limited to 8 women ~ intimate by design.
If this feels like it may be your season, I'd love to hold a space for you.
Or if you would like to talk first, I would love that too.
For many women, The Art of Flourishing is a powerful and complete experience on its own.
For others, it's part of a longer path, sometimes starting with one-on-one coaching to process what's most immediate, sometimes continuing afterward into a retreat experience for rest and integration.
Interested in dedicated time and space just for you? Join the waitlist for my next immersive retreat, Return to Yourself, dates to be announced.
Where you begin is your choice. Every path leads to the same place: a clearer, steadier, and more intentional you.
Return to Yourself is planned for 2027, dates to be announced soon.
Picture spacious days with nowhere you have to be. Slow mornings with coffee or tea in hand and no agenda pulling at you. Time to think a full thought without being interrupted. Deep, unhurried connection with women who understand exactly what this season feels like, without you having to explain it.
This isn't a retreat packed with sessions back to back. It's built for rest, reflection, and the kind of restoration that only happens when you finally stop moving. Space will be intentionally limited to keep the experience small and personal.
If you'd like to be the first to know when details, dates, and registration open, I'd love to have you on my list.
Cue exhale... ahhh, yes please.
